​A subtle but idiosyncratic redesign of a historic Dutch canal house, this residence references a diverse range of multicultural design influences to create a sunny home space full of little escapes. With sophisticated custom detailing and surprising finishes, this apartment is both a sanctuary and a dynamic social space.

​This project exhibits serenity and youthful exuberance. By respecting the historic nature of the building while introducing new influences relevant to the client's past and culture, the home has a balanced and subtle design. Deceptively simple, this home has plenty of ‘whitespace’ contrasted with moments of high detail and colour. A collection of iconic vintage European furniture and Japanese custom-made pieces are linked by proportion, symmetry, and finishes.
