Den Tex Dojo Main Page

A subtle but idiosyncratic redesign of a historic Dutch canal house, this residence references a diverse range of multicultural design influences to create a sunny home space full of little escapes.

With sophisticated custom detailing, and surprising finishes, this apartment is both a sanctuary and a dynamic social space.

This project exhibits both serenity and youthful exuberance. By respecting the historic nature of the building while introducing new influences relevant to the client's past and culture, the home has a balanced and subtle design. Deceptively simple, this home has plenty of ‘whitespace’ contrasted with moments of high detail and colour. A collection of iconic vintage European furniture and Japanese custom-made pieces are linked by proportion, symmetry, and finishes.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE

"Dominique took a house and made into a home. She completely reimagined our space into something not only stylish but also practical and functional – a space that is an absolute delight to live in, and a wonderful reminder of our time in Japan.

Her work makes an immediate impression, both modern and timeless, and is a gift to live in."
